All Saints' Church
All Saints' - The Parish Church for Milford
All Saints' is a beautiful Grade 1 listed building serving the parish of Milford on Sea in the New Forest. As you will see from just these few photos, it is a great place in which to worship and allows great flexibility within our services. In our regular morning worship we can present a traditional church appearance but then for a family service or for our monthly informal evening service we can remove the communion rails, communion table, priests' stalls and even the pulpit (yes, honestly!) to create an interesting and exciting free space.
We have recently formed a new congregation, bringing together those who worshipped in All Saints', with those who were part of Satellite (that met in the Church Hall on Sunday mornings). We have a vision of a whole morning in God's presence, into which people can commit in whatever way is right for them, beginning at the 8:00am service. At 9:00am coffee and the morning papers are available in the Hall, and then at 10:00am we come together for worship. During this time there are activities for children, and once a month we stay together for Church4All. The service is followed by time for coffee and fellowship at the back of the Church, and for those who would like, a time for extended teaching follows. The morning draws to a close around 11:45am.
We take very seriously our calling to be a parish church, providing a whole range of worship styles appropriate for our community. The main services are Common Worship but we also use the Book of Common Prayer and then at other times we will enjoy free and unstructured worship or use a more contemplative and reflective style. And then there are many different mid-week activities with lots of opportunities for people to become involved and to use their gifts and to discover new ones.
As well as an active in-house church life, members of the church are very involved in the local community. We also hold various outreach events throughout the year. For example there is a Sunday morning open air service during the Milford Music and Arts Festival: a church tent for the Carnival: an open air "Songs of Praise" with the Salvation Army band at Keyhaven: a service on the Village Green on Good Friday, and so on.
The heart of what we are about is seeking to create a body of
believers who are rooted, grounded and growing in their faith,
with a passion for sharing the good news of God with their
friends and neighbours.
People who are committed to doing God's will, in God's way for God's glory.
We have still a way to go - but do come and join us on the journey.
